Our Beginnings
Dakotech was founded in 1999 in Detroit, MI as a small part-time Information Technology consulting and support business. In 2003, Dakotech moved to Ann Arbor, MI, to better serve the Southeastern Michigan area as we felt that it would be best to position ourselves in a technology corridor. What started out as two employees driving around door-to-door in an old Volkswagon soon became a full-time operation catering primarily to law firms, professional offices, and other small businesses. Having had the fortune to land some of our most dedicated and successful clients in the first few years of business, we have carried some of the top law offices to the very edge of high technology. We strive to maintain the highest level of customer service, ethical billing, and a leading-edge knowledge base. We understand that not everyone is as attuned to technology as we are, and we do what it takes to get you excited about the terrifying prospects of technology.

After studying Business Administration and English at Wayne State University in Detroit stating a computer business sounded like a good marriage between the two disciplines. Focusing on creative ways to approach IT problems to lower cost and provide quality service was his objective. This mission began in 1999 when he was driving around in a red Volkswagen four door Golf operating out of an apartment in Detroit. Two customers turned into 10 then 20 and so came the Dakotech staff. Ethics and soft skills were the foundation of, then, Data Trend. "Green initiatives" of recycling morphed into "green computing" and thus cloud computing services which began in 2005. Newer services keeping, now Dakotech (2003), ahead of the curve like office automation and private custom Cloud Networks keep the future bright when other IT companies falter ... that's Dan's vision, his belief and the Dakotech way. Sought after by such corporations as Dell, Dan has stayed with the vision in which he started.
